Mathieu Serruys is a graphic designer and website developer based in Gent, Belgium. He is often working for (but not limiting to) cultural institutions and organizations, individual artists, architects, musicians and publishers. He has a strong interest in taking on assignments that require a content-first approach in close collaboration and dialogue with the client.
Since 2015 he is collaborating with Joris Verdoodt as studio Serruys-Verdoodt, occasionally still doing solo projects or collaborations with other designers. In addition to all kinds of printed matter, the design and development of websites is also an important branch in our studio. Websites are always coded in-house to ensure integrated design solutions and an efficient workflow. By developing with a state-of-the-art content management system, we can offer our clients a personalized and very user-friendly online environment.
Besides working for clients, he is co-running B.A.A.D.M., a publishing platform for experimental music with a strong interest in the interaction between artist modus operandi and an environment of alternate worldview. He is also active as a composer in the experimental music scene, and has recorded two albums: on Germaine Dulac (2014) & Skin/Glove (2019)
